Astrologist Susan Miller on what's in store for Beyonce and Jay Z's baby, a Capricorn, with her moon in loving, family-oriented Cancer
Beloved singer, actress, dancer and fashion design celebrity, Virgo Beyoncé Knowles, and her equally famous husband, Sagittarius music mogul Jay, announced the birth of their baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, on Saturday evening, January 7, 2012. Their baby is a Capricorn, with her moon in loving, family-oriented Cancer.
Though confirming Blue Ivy's exact birth time proved difficult, I used clues gathered through various media reports to determine that Ivy is most likely a Virgo rising, so I set her chart at 9:50PM EST in New York City.
Family Life
Mother Beyoncé is earth sign Virgo, and with her baby's three earth planets (Sun, Mercury, and Pluto) in earth sign Capricorn, with a possibly Virgo rising, this little girl will always be emotionally close to her Mama. Beyoncé's natal moon is in Scorpio, blending beautifully and intuitively with her newborn's Cancer moon. This will insure a magical closeness during all their lives. This child's relationship with her father will be close too, for together Baby Blue and her father will crackle with intellectual excitement. No doubt, as she grows up, they will have plenty of discussions about various ideas and projects.
Indeed, there is ample reason to feel that both parents will contribute to this baby's happiness and development of her talents. With baby Blue's moon in Cancer, family will always be "all" for Baby Blue. She has a chart that reminds me of the qualities a first born child often demonstrates-identification with her parents, strong leadership ability, strength in her own convictions, along with a desire to please her parents, on her own terms, in a healthy way.

With five planets in earth, Blue Ivy is practical, levelheaded and will have her feet on the ground. And with most planets on the angles, she has a very strong drive, and chances are, she'll find a way to leave her mark on the world. Baby Blue's powerful Mars in Virgo is found in ideal angle to her natal Sun in Capricorn and is one of the driving forces in her chart. Like Beyoncé and Madonna, two stars with important Virgo placements as well, she will grow up to be a perfectionist. She has the ability to concentrate deeply, to focus on complex projects and to keep them all extremely organized. As she gets a bit older, she may report a photographic memory. Her passion and determination to get things done right will push her to keep polishing her projects until they are flawless, working on them long after others would have given up. This child will always have staying power, and she will like to work, and in that respect, she'll be just like her parents.
Emotional Connectivity
Baby Blue Ivy was born with her moon moving toward fullness in Cancer. This indicates she will be sensitive to the emotions of people around her, displaying a kind of sixth sense, and will be in close touch with her own feelings too. This is another quality of an artist, so no doubt she would use her emotional acuity to strengthen her artistic expressions-we will respond to them for we will identify with the feelings she will display in her art.

Fame and Money
Full moon babies often become famous in their own right, or at the very least, appear before the public throughout most of their lives. We will be seeing lots of Blue Ivy as she grows up.
Her natal Jupiter is found in her house of "other people's money" (eighth house insuring she will become wealthy through a major inheritance.) Her natal Saturn is found in her second house of income, showing caution in spending money, and at times, she may have a somewhat irrational fear of running out of money. Capricorns are ruled by Saturn (Saturn is Capricorn's guardian planet), so with Saturn found in her second house of income, giving that house prominence, I suspect she will want to prove to her parents that she can make it on her own, and not rely on given family money for her worth. With Jupiter in her eighth house, she can, and will, make money.
No doubt financial management and discussions about money will take up a large part of her time in life. She'll feel comfortable with the role of money manager, something she'll get increasingly better at it in time. She will use money carefully, to fund the projects she's studied and feels passionate about producing.
Here is where things get interesting.
Relationship With Her Father
Remarkably, her father's Saturn is conjunct Baby Blue's Jupiter, a strongly stabilizing influence, and her natal Saturn is conjunct her father's Jupiter, so she has the same effect on her father! This is remarkable! These conjunctions give extra emphasis to Blue Ivy's two financial houses, and with Jupiter, the planet of plenty, and Saturn the planet of stability (even austerity) father Jay Z will make sure the family fortune is well secured by sharing his financial wisdom with his offspring. Capricorns like Baby Blue are naturally interested in money and power, so Jay Z will have en eager student, and she will be in sync with his concerns.
His Pluto, however, is aligned with her natal Mars, so he may take a too heavy-handed approach in his quest to teach her the value of a dollar. He will want her to take his advice without question, but as she grows up, with her Mars rising, she will have opinions of her own-and could easily rebel. It is also possible that he will take a Warren Buffet approach, not giving his child any money (some might say, too austere in approach) and that too could cause friction, even at times, resentment.

Baby Blue, thanks to her Mars placement, will be very energetic, entrepreneurial, and confident in her abilities and direction. The fact that her Mars is strong only emphasizes her possible clash with her father at times-both will have strong opinions. This dynamic tension can create great results, however, because both sides will fully present their points of view. Once they reach an agreed-upon course of action, it will be a strong one. When Blue Ivy Carter is 15, in 2027, it will be a big year for her, and it could be the time see a big result to the bubbling creativity within her.

Here is why: Jay Z's natal Mars is found at 22 degrees Aquarius, and her Venus is found at almost 24 degrees Aquarius, a lovely conjunction, producing a charming, magnetic and loving mix between father and daughter. The strong emphasis on Aquarius in her creative zone suggests digital media will be fascinating to Baby Blue and that will be a prime area of exploration, something they may do together.
Relationship With Her Mother
Will Blue Ivy be a style icon like her mother? Beyoncé was born with five planets in Libra, a sign that adores fashion. Libra is the zodiac's arbiter of taste, the sign most likely to decide for the rest of us "what's hot and what is not." Although Blue Ivy will be very emotionally close to her mother, and will imitate her Mom in some ways, she won't have the obsession with fashion that her Mom has shown so far in life. Blue Ivy will be more consumed with her ideas in music and art, and she'll be busy. She may just don a working uniform-classic tee and beautifully cut jeans, leather jacket, great boots-and call it a day. Her strong earth-sign emphasis favors functionality.
